Dances to Song Tunes by Hugh Foss

Dances to Song Tunes by Hugh Foss

With Dances to Song Tunes, released 2014, Iain Cathcart and his Band have recorded a brilliant double CD to accompany the re-publication of Hugh Foss’ Book of the same name. In keeping with the theme of this title, Iain Cathcart and his Band have arranged the music to ensure all tunes in each dance are indeed song tunes. They researched and collated material from old manuscripts of Scottish traditional works featuring many of Robert Burns’ finest songs through to Scottish Music Hall favourites from the last century.
